Dancing Through Lockdown

Since it's R U Ok day today - we figured today is an important reminder to check in with our DTLS family, to see how you are all coping during this lockdown. How is everyone? Are you feeling tired? Are you feeling overwhelmed? Are you feeling stressed? Are you feeling burnt out? - It's ok. It is totally normal to be feeling all of these things and more during this difficult time. Remember we are all going through this together and we will come out of this together.

For anyone struggling during this lockdown. We see you. We hear you. We feel you.

Here are our tips to help you to continue to stay positive and dance through life during lockdown!

1. S T A Y C O N N E C T E D

Here at DTLS we are a family - a community of adult dancers who dance for fun, to socialise and connect with other dancers. If you are not already a part of our DTLS FaceBook group 'DTLS Dancers' we encourage you to join and to reach out if you need someone to talk. We are all here for each other!

2. M O V E Y O U R B O D Y

If you haven't been feeling yourself we encourage you to move your bodies and keep dancing through this lockdown! Even if it is a quick 10 minute stretch or a 30 minute walk around the block. This will help to increase your endorphin levels, to make you feel a little bit less stressed, anxious or worried and instead feel happy, confident and capable.

Are you struggling with find motivation and time in your day to get some exercise in? Join our DTLS fam in one of our online classes! We run our Adult Dance Fit (Open) classes Monday through to Friday 12pm-12.30pm and 1pm-1.30pm. These classes are great if you are looking for a quick 30 minute workout to break up your work day. If you have family at home with you, they are more than welcome to join in the fun as well!

3. L I S T E N T O M U S I C

We also believe in the healing power of music. Have you ever been in a bad mood and then you hear your favourite song and your mood immediately becomes more positive?

So when you next start to feel stressed or worried, take 3 minutes out of your day to pump up your favourite track and dance around your house (even better if it's with your family members!) Use the healing power of music and dance. Everyone has a song that can make their mood go from 0-100. Go 👏 And 👏 Dance 👏 It 👏 Out 👏. We dare you!

4. R E A C H O U T

Remember a conversation could change a life. Make sure you reach out to your family, friends and fellow dancers! For more information on R U OK day go to; https://www.ruok.org.au

Sending you all lots of love, positive vibes and dancing energy! 💃💃💃
